Hello from Mexico!

Hi! My name is Elena Olascoaga.

I hold a MA in Gender and Development from IDS (Institute of Development Studies) from the University of Sussex). I'm an ILO Gender Audit Facilitator, and currently an external ITCILO trainer and former UN Women SRO for Central America and Mexico. I have 14+years of experience working on Gender and Development. I design and deliver gender equality programs for government entities and corporations. My expertise is in participatory methodologies, adult learning, developing training and instructional outputs.

I loves any positive group effort, from flash mobs to organizing communities. Even though I didn't do well in art class in 5th grade, I directed a documentary in 2015! My naivety is my superpower, which led me to start a non-profit in 2019 with the vision of creating structures that from the beginning acknowledge women as figures of knowledge and authority. My NGO was active for 5 years in 24 states in Mexico, I stopped operations this year, and now I'm fully focused on my consulting business.

As a typical Capricorn, I love systems, methodologies, frameworks and processes.

Fun facts:

  • I can't whistle
  • I'm the caregiver of a beautiful white cat with no tail (she is like a bunny)

I decided to join this community because I'm looking for more consulting projects and I would love to expand my network of Fabulous Feminists like you.
